Herb Day 2017 presented by the Baton Rouge Unit
Sponsored by the Baton Rouge Unit of the Herb Society of America Our annual celebration of all things herbal on March 4, 2017, is a fantastic opportunity to get some relief from our individual cases of Nature Deficit Disorder and to generally have a great day outside! Proceeds support our work on the Herb Gardens at Burden.
Herbs of many interesting and unusual varieties will be sold all day Vendors and Ways and Means sales in the Orangerie Jambalaya on the lawn in front of the Orangerie beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Children’s Herbal Petting “Zoo” – pet, smell, and taste wonderful herbs Garden Tours of the Flavors of Louisiana Herb Garden Raffle with wonderful and amazing prizes, including a handmade quilt!
Classes in the Burden Conference Center:
9:00 a.m. – Old South Kitchen Gardens, Kitty Bull
10:00 a.m. – Saving the Monarchs!! Ken Bosso
11:00 a.m. – Getting Started with Herbs, Art Scarbrough
Noon – Cooking with Cilantro/Coriander, Herb of the Year Cynthia LeJeune Nobles, author of the Confederacy of Dunces Cookbook and the Delta Queen Cookbook
