The Northern New Jersey Unit of The Herb Society of America
The Northern New Jersey Unit of the Morristown area formed in 1970.
Recent Unit Programs: Potpourri; making and sharing it at our November 2015 Meeting. This is greatly enjoyed!
Recent Public Programs: Over 1,000 visitors come annually to see our garden: TempeWick Garden at Morristown National Historic Park, including many schools and garden clubs. We share our herbal knowledge with them while we are maintaining them. All plants are labeled and their use is posted. This garden was historically owned by the Wick Family and was used by the Revolutionary Soldiers for their encampment in 1776. Our unit provides all monetary expenses for plants, dirt, tools, some labor costs and other necessities. Jean Bohn, our Garden Chair for several years, is an unbelievable servant of the garden. She gives a complete garden report to the Park Superintendent and Staff each year. It is a big job and we are greateful to her.
