South Texas Unit
The South Texas Unit of The Herb Society of America, Inc. is a non-profit, service and educational organization founded in 1968.
Any person showing special interest in growing, using or studying herbs may apply for membership in the unit. For details on membership requirements see our website.
The South Texas Unit maintains two public gardens in Houston: the Fragrant Garden in Hermann Park and another in historic Sam Houston Park adjacent to the Kellum-Noble house. These gardens are maintained solely by the volunteer efforts of members and from funding from the Unit.
Information about day and evening meetings is available on the South Texas Unit's website. Annual events include an Educational Herb Day Symposium, generally held the fourth week in April, and an Herbal Harvest Fair, held the first weekend in November.
