"Rangoon creeper is a rampant climber of the Combretaceae family. It will freeze to the ground in Zone 8b and emerges in mid-May with growth of 15 to 20 feet in one growing season. The fragrant white flowers grow in pendent racemes, quickly changing to pink then red, making a spectacular show. Our 11-year-old plant is a cutting from a very old plant that survived the tornado of 1983. It is one of the more difficult plants to propagate, with only a 1 or 2% success rate." – Madalene Hill, Promising Plants Presentation, 2004
