American Herbalists Guild

A non-profit organization of professional medical herbalists. Includes information on education in herbalism, an online practitioner search, publications listing and links to member pages.

American Herbal Products Association

A national trade association of the herbal products industry, the mission of AHPA is “to serve its members while promoting the responsible commerce of products which contain herbs and which are used to enhance health and quality of life.” Site includes member links, publications information and industry news. 

American Kenaf Society

A non-profit organization dedicated to the herb/fiber plant, kenaf, whose objectives include dissemination of kenaf research and information, and promoting the development of the kenaf industry. Site provides kenaf history, botany and images, as well as products and suppliers.

American Spice Trade Association

An international trade association for the spice industry. Site includes history, recipes and an online spice library with a variety of information on herbs and spices.

Herb Growing & Marketing Network

A major trade association for the herb industry, this site includes publications lists and other information for herb businesses. Also includes online version of the directory, The Herbal Green Pages, links to national and international herb gardens, a listing of plant sources, herbal classifieds, a discussion list and a listing of herbal schools and courses.

Herb Society (U.K.)

Includes informational articles, membership information, events listing, a list of herb courses in the U.K. and the table of contents from the current issue of the society’s journal, Herbs.

International Herb Association

The professional trade association formerly known as the International Herb Growers and Marketers Association, IHA designates the Herb of the Year. Site includes online articles, speakers bureau, and information about the Herb of the Year and IHA's annual conference.

PCA Medicinal Plant Working Group: Green Medicine

A working group of the Plant Conservation Alliance which focuses on medicinal plants native to the United States. Site provides conservation information and profiles/images of selected medicinal plants "of particular conservation concern."

Society for Economic Botany

An organization whose purpose is to "foster and encourage scientific research, education, and related activities on the past, present, and future uses of plants, and the relationship between plants and people, and to make the results of such research available to the scientific community and the general public through meetings and publications." Site includes tables of contents for the society's journal, Economic Botany, and newsletter. Educational Resources and Student Network sections include links and online publications.

United Plant Savers

A non-profit medicinal plant conservation association. Site includes online newsletter, lists of at-risk plants, and information about publications and the UPS Botanical Sanctuary.
