2006 Educational Conference Highlights
The Herb Society of America Educational Conference and Annual Meeting of Members, "Herbs - Hands On!" was held June 8-10, 2006 at the Radisson City Centre, Indianapolis, Indiana.Featured speakers included author and research professor, Dr. Arthur O. Tucker, professor emerita and author Dr. Kathleen Warfel Hull, chef Steve Oakley, gardener/horticulturist Geoffrey Von Burg, and nursery owner Charles Heidgen. In all, twenty-three speakers presented fifteen programs covering a variety of herbal topics. General interest sessions on writing for HSA publications, creative disagreement, delegation, membership recruitment and retention, and using the HSA library and website were also available. Five evening demonstration workshops were also offered.
Participants also had the opportunity to peruse the offerings of herbal vendors during the Marketplace, and to attend pre and post-conference tours of local gardens.
The conference concluded with HSA's Annual Awards Ceremony.
