Boston, the capital and largest city of Massachusetts, is one of our nation's oldest cities, founded in 1630 by English Puritans. No matter how you travel - by foot, trolley, bike or car you are sure to encounter a museum, historical landmark or architectural gem at almost every turn. Boston's famous Freedom Trail begins in the downtown area and extends into the North End. The 2.5-mile red brick walking path leads you past 16 nationally significant historic sites. Faneuil Hall, Paul Revere's House, The Old North Church and the Boston Tea Party Ship and Museum are just a few of the authentic American treasures that can be discovered along the trail.
